…as Akeredolu sings victory songs

If the victory songs that came out of the mouth of the Governor of Ondo State and candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Saturday October 10, 2020 gubernatorial election in the state, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, is anything to go by, then the ruling party is already coasting home to victory.

Governor Akeredolu was short of words at the mega rally held today at the Akure Township Stadium to round up the campaign of his party. It was only Eureka songs that he could utter when he saw the large crowd that graced the mega rally with which the party wrapped up its campaign for the coming election.

The rally had in attendance nearly all the progressive Governors’ from the APC controlled states in Nigeria. It also had in attendance the various ethnic groups dwelling the various parts of the state, who came out in their large numbers. Numerous members came from all the 18 local government areas of the state and could not hide their resolve to ensure victory for their hardworking and resourceful governor in the Saturday election.

Progressive Governors present took turns to eulogise the good works of Gov. Akeredolu.
They include Gov. Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos State, who doubles as the national chairman of the campaign, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State who doubles as chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Gov Abubakar Atiku Baguduof Kebbi State who doubles as chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Gov Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State, Gov Yahaya Adoza Bello of Kogi State, Gov Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, to mention just a few.

Before the governor’s took turns to talk, the video clips of both President Mohammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had rolled, where the President and VP talked about the good works of Gov Akeredolu and asked the people of Ondo State to come out and vote enmasse for the Gov. Akeredolu on Saturday, giving their assurance that the latter would even do more during his second term in office. VP Osinbajo specifically listed the many projects that the Governor had done during the first term and, in his words, such good deeds should not go unnoticed and unappreciated.

The residents in all the 18 local government areas in Ondo State are expected to troop out in their numbers on Saturday October 10, 2020, to vote for the Governor of their choice.

The leading contenders are the incumbent Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of APC, Barrister Eyitayo Jegede of the PDP and Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi of the Zenith Labour Party, in that order.
