It was a moment of joy in Otun-Ekiti, the headquarters of Moba Local Government Area of Ekiti State when the Senator representing Ekiti North Senatorial District, Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi Hands over the erosion control and road construction site to the contractor.
The Federal Ministry of Environment contracted Marydell Nigeria Limited to handle the project.
The project which was facilitated by Senator Adetunmbi includes road construction, and flood management along General Hospital road, Off Ayetoro road, Otun-Ekiti.
Speaking, Senator Adetunmbi who was represented by his Personal Assistant, Hon. Moshood Lawal (Bamaiyi) promised to attract more Infrastructure developments to the district. He advised the residents of the community to cooperate with the contractor and the ministry officials, so that, the projects will be delivered as scheduled.
The representative of the Federal Ministry of Environment, Engr. Musa promised to deliver the project within three months. He revealed that the contract has road construction, drainages, and construction of channels.
The team had earlier visited the palace of the Oore of Otun-Ekiti to brief him about the scope of the project and to solicit his support.
In his remarks, the Oore of Otun-Ekiti, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo who accompanied the team to inspect the site of the project thanked Senator Adetunmbi for the project.
One of the residents of the community, and a former Chairman of Moba Local Government, Prince Dejo Dada appreciate Senator Adetunmbi for coming to their aid, he said the road is strategic because it leads to Otun General Hospital.
With the handing over of the Otun-Ekiti site to the contractor, Senator Adetunmbi has now facilitated 3 erosion control projects from the Federal Ministry of Environment, others are Township roads & erosion control projects in Iyedi Street, Ido-Ekiti and Ayemi Road, Aponrayin — Orin Odo, Ikole — Ekiti.
Recall that the Senator has also facilitated completed flood management and township road projects in Ifaki-Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government, Oye-Ekiti in Oye Local Government, and Iye-Ekiti in Ilejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
