Insecurity is the state of being open to danger or threat; lack of protection.
The State of insecurity in Imo State and Nigeria at large needs attention. What is happening in Nigeria on daily basis ranging from killings, robbery, banditry activities and kidnapping is indeed unethical.
I keep wondering why this is happening in a structurized country with a democratic elected political office holders. Interestingly, President Muhammadu Buhari who’s in charge was once a Military Head of State who has the experience and ability to crush security challenges facing our dear nation.
Few days ago, Ahmed Gulak, Jonathan’s ex-aide, shot dead in Owerri. He was murded like a dog where blood was gushing out of his body uncontrollable. It was Another high profile murder, involving the Chief Provost of Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Imo State Command, Mr Okiemute Mrere, yesterday evening.
Burning of properties is ongoing in the State on daily basis since the inception of Governor Hope Odidika Uzodinma. Honestly speaking, something is wrong with the State which needs immediate control. If care is not taken the state will witness total collapse. It is preferable for State of Emergency declared in the State for adequate measure.
Most Nigeria States is burning aside Imo State and South East at large which is a pointer to Nigeria’s breakdown. A secured environment must be put in place for the safety of lives and properties of the citizens which is the opium of a better environment.
Security architecture of Nigeria must be redesigned as a way to curb security fallout where peace of sanity can be restored.
This is our country, the needful must be done without any delay for a secured environment.
