• Erudition and Scholarly Contributions:

Fayemi has written on governance and democratization, civil-military relations and security sector issues in Africa. Among his recent books are: Deepening the Culture of Constitutionalism: The Role of Regional Institutions in Constitutional Development in Africa (CDD, 2003), Security Sector Governance in Africa: A Handbook (edited with Nicole Ball, CDD, 2004) and Out of the Shadows: Exile and the Struggle for Freedom and Democracy in Nigeria (CDD, 2005).

  • His performance as the Governor of Ekiti State… Part of his achievements in his second term of office are:

Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State may choose to remain silent on his administration’s multiple Projects across the sixteen (16) Local Governments of Ekiti state. But the following incontrovertible completed and ongoing projects are to his credit:

(1). Reconstruction, renovation and rehabilitation of Primary Health Center, Ijurin Ekiti, Ijero local government.

(2). Construction of Comprehensive Health Center with Staff quarters, new Ambulance, Borehole and perimeter fencing at Osun Ekiti, Moba local government.

(3). Rehabilitation, reconstruction and renovation of Ero water Dam with new equipments such as new 1500 kva generator in Ikun Ekiti, Moba local government.

(4). Rejuvenation, rehabilitation of the murribund Ikun diary farm with new Jessy cows from U.S, with massive investment in human capital and equipments. The dairy is in the process of producing 10,000 litres of milk per day.

(5). Construction of Iludun-Ekiti road.

(6). Establishment of College of Agriculture and Technology, Isan-Ekiti.

(7). Ongoing construction of Orisunmibare road, Ewu-Ekiti.

(8). The Construction of Ilupeju-Ire-Igbemo roads in Irepodun/Ifelodun LG

(9). Resuscitation, reinvestment and rehabilitation of Ire Clay bricks industry with new equipments and manpower development, Ire-Ekiti in Oye LG;

(10). Establishment of Banji Akintoye Model College, Erinfun, Federal Polytechnic road, Ado Ekiti.

(11). Reconstruction, rehabilitation and renovation of Egbe water Dam with new equipments, Egbe Ekiti, Gbonyin local government.

(12). The construction of Agbado-Ode-Isinbode-Omuo roads, Gbonyin/Ekiti East Local Government Areas.

(13). Establishment of Ekiti state Knowledge zone, Ijan-Ekiti.

(14). Ongoing Construction of Ekiti Cargo Airport, Ado-Ekiti.

(15). Construction of Ekiti state water Corporation Headquarters, along Iworoko, Ado-Ekiti.

(16). Establishment of Ayo Fasanmi Model College, Ilukuno, Ado Ekiti.

(17). Establishment of Asphalt plants along Iworoko, Ado Ekiti.

(18). Establishment of Ekiti Sexual Assault Referral Center, a.k.a Moremi Clinic, EKSUTH, Ado Ekiti.

(19). Construction of new water reservoir at Fajuyi area, Ado Ekiti.

(20). Reconstruction, Renovation and Rehabilitation of Fountain Hotel, Trade fair complex, Basiri, Ado Ekiti.

(21). Ongoing construction of Iyin-Odooro roads.

(22). Construction of new Iyin-Ado Ekiti dual carriage way.

(23). Completion of Ekiti state Secretariat phase v abandoned by the immediate past administration.

(24). Reconstruction, Renovation and Rehabilitation of Technical college, Ado Ekiti.

(25). Establishment of David Oke Model College, along Ikere Ekiti road, Ado Ekiti.

(26). Reconstruction and renovation of Oba Adejugbe General Hospital with new Ambulance, 1000kva generator and many new equipments.

(27). Establishment of Transit Homes at Agric Olope, Ado Ekiti to care for the Needy, to accommodate homeless, train people in the art of vocational enterprises free of charge, with free feedings three times daily.

(28). Construction of Ekiti Civic Center with State of the art furniture and equipments, Ado Ekiti.

(29). Establishment of Ekiti state lottery Commission, trade fair complex, Basiri, Ado Ekiti.

(30). Ongoing construction of Chamber of Ekiti state Traditional Council, Oke’sa, Ado Ekiti.

(31) Renovation of over 350 primary and secondary schools across the 16 Local Government Areas of Ekiti State.

(32) Reconstruction of EKSUTH internal roads

(33) Construction of Accident and Emergency unit at EKSUTH

(34) Completion of Oja Oba’s market in Ado Ekiti

(35) Renovation of various general hospitals in Ekiti State

(36). Renovation and re-equipments of Ero Dam in Moba LG

(37). Renovation of Ureje Dam in Ado Ekiti

(38). Reconstruction of Erinjiyan – Aramoko’s road in Ekiti West LG

JKF without doubt has transformed Ekiti State and her people. Kindly note that this is despite meagre resources to the state.
