Manchester City took another huge step towards retaining the Premier League title as one moment of inspiration from Kevin De Bruyne saw off Chelsea 1-0.

A game of few chances was brought to life by the Belgian 20 minutes from time as he curled home the only goal from outside the box to seal a 12th consecutive league win for the champions.

Although seemingly off balance and with a pass to Raheem Sterling the obvious move, De Bruyne dug the ball out of his feet and curled a shot past the outstretched hand of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

It was the Belgian’s fifth goal against Chelsea and leaves his former club 13 points behind City with just 16 games remaining.
