January 29, 2022 which was the last day for Political Parties to conduct Primaries to determine their Candidates has come and gone.

Clearly, The Candidates of the APC, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, BAO and PDP, Hon. Bisi Kolawole, are from the Central Senatorial District.

The Candidate of the ADC ( African Democratic Congress), Dr. Oluwole Oluyede from Ikere is from the South Senatorial District. There is a likelihood of more Candidates of other Political Parties to come from the South Senatorial District before February 25, 2022.

Before the last day for the withdrawal and replacement of Candidates by Political Parties on February 25, 2022, Engr. Segun Oni from the North Senatorial District will either be a Candidate of the APP or APGA, depending on the ongoing negotiation with the leadership of both Parties.

Simply put, in line with the historical tradition of Ekiti State at every gubernatorial election circle, all the three Senatorial Districts will have their representatives on the ballot for Ekiti electorates to decide which of the Senatorial Districts will Govern Ekiti State for the next four years on June 18, 2022.

Like I wrote earlier, all the noise about Zoning and Southern agitation are needless; Zoning of Gubernatorial position has never been part of Ekiti Political culture because of the homogeneity of Ekiti State.
