The Ekiti State government, through its investment management entity, Fountain Holdings Limited, officially transferred the rights to Glocient Hospitality, the preferred bidder for a 15-year build, operate, and transfer concession. This initiative aims to transform the Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort into a world-class tourism destination.

The ceremony for the transfer of rights took place on Friday in the historic town of Ikogosi. It was attended by senior government officials, the traditional ruler of Ikogosi-Ekiti, His Royal Majesty Oba Elijah Olorunishola, along with members of his traditional council. A delegation from Glocient Hospitality Limited was also present at the event.

Members of the Glocient Hospitality team, comprising architects, builders, tourism sector experts, and community stakeholders, conducted a comprehensive tour of the facility to assess its current state and potential for enhancement.

The Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort is a renowned global tourist attraction situated in Ikogosi, Ekiti State. Its fame lies in the exceptional occurrence of warm and cold-water springs existing side by side, making it the only location in the world with this unique geological phenomenon.

Situated within the Ipole-Iloro tourism corridor, the facility has long been acknowledged by the Ekiti State Government as the premier tourism asset, holding substantial potential for revenue generation and job creation. Governor Biodun Oyebanji has prioritized its revitalization, recognizing its significance in the state’s tourism landscape.

According to Mr. J.B. Folorunsho, the Acting Group Managing Director of Fountain Holdings Limited, Glocient Hospitality was meticulously chosen due to the company’s corporate and financial capabilities, established track record, and a comprehensive roadmap for the phased revitalization of the Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort facility.

He described the development as a demonstration of the commitment of the Oyebanji administration to economic development and the creation of jobs for the people of the state.

Also speaking, the Executive Director of Glocient Hospitality, Mr Dele Odufuye said: “We are excited to commence work on this rare gift of nature. We know without a doubt that what these prime asset needs are the right infrastructure and management to attract droves of patrons and activities all year round. Our meticulously drafted roadmap will ensure we meet key milestones in the revamp of this facility over the short, medium, and long term, but the ultimate objective is to turn this facility into a world-class vacation resort, with facilities for golf and other leisure activities. The first phase of this project will see the facility become operational by Q1 2023, and we rely on the support of every single one of us to collectively achieve our goals.”

Odufuye assured all stakeholders that the objective of Glocient Hospitality is to work collaboratively to achieve shared prosperity.

 “Our young people with immense talents, creativity, and energy will also find the revamped Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort we are building to be a hub of activities that would be beneficial to them.”

Chief Jide Josiah, speaking on behalf of the host community, extended a warm welcome to Glocient Hospitality. He assured the company of the community’s full support in achieving the set goals for the Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort.
