Mr. Oyebode Akintunde and Dr. Filani Oyebanji has been screened and confirmed by Ekiti State House of Assembly as commissioner nominees in the state.

All Nigeria Latest News reports that the approval was unanimously supported by lawmakers at the plenary after the Adhoc Screening Committee, which was responsible for screening the nominees, presented its report.

The Assembly drilled the nominees on their mission and vision for the State and how they can improve on their performances in their former positions.

Both of the nominees had served as Commissioners for Finance and Health in the last two years of the Dr. Kayode Fayemi administration.

Oyebode and Filani promised to improve on their past performances.

Rt. Hon. Hakeem Jamiu, the Deputy Speaker of the House, who presided at the plenary had earlier read letters forwarded to the House by Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for confirmation of the commissioner designates and the Chairman of the State Revenue Service.

The Deputy Speaker also presented the Governor’s request seeking approval for the 2023 – 2025 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) to the lawmakers.

The MTEF document was unanimously approved after the Leader of Government Business, Hon. Gboyega Aribisogan had moved the motion and seconded by the Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Hon. Olubunmi Adelugba.
