Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has approved the appointment of the Olojudo of Ido-Ekiti, Ido/Osi Local Government Area of the State, Oba Ayorinde Ilori Faboro, as the new Chairman of the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, All Nigeria Latest News reports.

As announced by Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye on Monday, the appointment will span a two-year period, commencing from August 1, 2023, to August 1, 2025.

The appointment comes in the wake of the conclusion of the two-year tenure of Oba Gabriel Ayodele Adejuwon, the Onisan of Isan-Ekiti, who served as the head of the council.

According to the statement, Oba Adejuwon, who succeeded Oba Ajibade Alabi, the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, served as the head of the council from July 28, 2021, to July 28, 2023.

The government expressed gratitude for the traditional ruler’s prayers, support, and significant contributions to the progress of Ekiti in various aspects.

The statement reads: “The government congratulates the council members on this feat, and pray for a successful tenure for the new leadership.

“The government appreciates the traditional rulers for their solid support for the outgone chairman, while also pleading that similar gestures should be extended to the new one”.
