Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos, Olusegun Odunmbaku, has subsidised prices of food items for the people.
This was part of activities marking his two years in office.
The event, which took place at the Council Secretariat, Oke-Ira, saw residents paying as low as N1,000 for several foodstuffs.
Odunmbaku said the initiative would complement the palliative efforts of both the state and federal governments.
Many residents trooped out to benefit from the food palliatives’ bazaar display at exhibition stands in the council hall.
Odunmbaku highlighted various developmental strides recorded by his administration.
He also reiterated his commitment to further implement programmes aimed at improving the lives of Ojodu residents.
He spoke about sustainable developments initiatives achieved through his H.E.Y.S Agenda (Health, Education, Youth and Women Development, Social And Infrastructural Development), such as upgrading of Primary Health Centers, Provision of Free GCE and Jambs forms, Capacity Building and Empowerment Programmes for youths and Women, Provision of vehicles to security formations and Infrastructural renewal across Ojodu and environs.
The council chief reeled out various partnership and collaborations with private institutions and non-governmental organizations to provide free Medical Missions for residents with Rotary Club, water and sanitation facilities for schools markets and health centers with PEPSICO, vocational training for youths with KENNOL and others that have continued to foster socioeconomic development.
