The governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde has approved the payment of N25,000 for workers and N15,000 for pensioners as wage awards in Oyo state.
All Nigeria Latest News reported that Governor Makinde said the payment will be for six months with at an additional N2.2 billion added to the wage bill of the state.
The governor disclosed this in the company of labour leaders including Comrade Kayode Martins (NLC), Comrade Bosun Olabiyi (TUC), Comrade Olaonipekun Oluwaseun (JNC Public Sector) while addressing workers at the entrance of the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan.
The governor was joined by other government functionaries, including Comrade Adebayo Titilola-Sodo, serving as the Special Adviser on Labour Matters, and Reverend Idowu Ogedengbe, the Executive Assistant to the governor, among other functionaries, as he delivered his address.
The Oyo State employees surged into the Governor’s Office, as part of a decision taken during a Congress on Monday to ensure the issue is resolved once and for all.
