All Nigeria Latest News reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has initiated the crucial process of distributing sensitive materials across the 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi State.
The electoral body has set Saturday, November 11, as the date for the governorship election in the North-Central state, aligning with simultaneous elections scheduled for Imo and Bayelsa States.
As anticipation builds for the elections, concerns about potential violence have arisen. In response, the police, army, and other security agencies are actively deploying personnel to safeguard the integrity of this crucial election.
At the headquarters of INEC in Lokoja on Friday, it was observed the heavy presence of policemen during distribution of sensitive materials.
Also, men of the Counter-Terrorism Unit of the Police Force, sniffer dogs as well as Armoured Personnel Carrier were sighted.
