The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal has fixed today Friday, November 17, 2023, for judgment in the Kano State governorship election dispute between Governor Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, and Nasiru Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC), All Nigeria Latest News reports.
In a notice on the board of the appellate court, the judgment will be delivered by 10 a.m.
In a related development, the Kano State Government has urged calm ahead of the upcoming judgment on the governorship poll.
In a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye, supporters of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) were encouraged to stay calm and avoid any disruption of peace.
The commissioner also appealed to security agencies to intensify efforts in maintaining law and order, cautioning against potential exploitation of the situation by criminal elements.
