All Nigeria Latest News reports that the Osun State Government has directed a comprehensive investigation into the reported food poisoning incident involving 18 students at St. James Primary School (B) Owoope in Osogbo.
Governor Ademola Adeleke, in response to the incident, has ordered the immediate cessation of food preparation under the O-Meal program at the affected school.
The implicated cooks and their planning officer have been summoned to a meeting today to address the situation. Furthermore, the Governor has mandated the enforcement of food standards and initiated an audit of the O-Meal program structure to prevent future occurrences.
The governor also directed that all medical bills of the affected students should be settled by the state government.
Mr Nathaniel Ojetola, Local Government Education Authority Chairman, confirmed that 18 students were treated and discharged.
