The Rivers State Government clarified on Wednesday that the demolition of the State House of Assembly Complex was undertaken based on the recommendation of consultants who cautioned that the building had become uninhabitable.

All Nigeria Latest News reports that the government stated that the advice to demolish and restructure the building was predicated on the recent fire that engulfed the allowed chambers and the need to strengthen the long existing complex.

Joe Johnson, the Commissioner for Information disclosed this on the sidelines of the presentation of the 2024 budget at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

Johnson said the government hopes to quickly complete the renovation.
