Supreme Court reserves judgment in Section 84(12) Electoral Act

All Nigeria Latest News reports that the Supreme Court of Nigeria has scheduled Thursday for the hearing of the appeal in the Kano State governorship dispute.

Governor Kabir Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) is contesting the decision of the Appeal Court, which affirmed the tribunal’s ruling that removed him and declared Dr. Nasiru Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the March 11 governorship election.

The three-member panel of the Appeal Court rejected Governor Yusuf’s appeal, citing concerns about his party membership status.

Confusion arose on Tuesday, November 21, when the certified true copy of the court judgment surfaced four days after the ruling, revealing contradictions in the decision.
