All Nigeria Latest News reports that Renowned Nollywood actress, Iniobong Edo, widely known as Ini Edo, has candidly discussed her experience with motherhood and her choice to pursue surrogacy for conception.
In a conversation on the latest episode of ‘Toke Moments’ hosted by media personality Toke Makinwa, Ini Edo revealed that she was unsure about how the public would perceive her decision to opt for surrogacy.
She said, “It wasn’t a decision that I said I’ll just go and do this. I just knew that I wanted a child, and it wasn’t happening the way I wanted it to happen. I didn’t know what to expect or how the world would perceive it.
“What bothered me was; would I be able to love her as much if I carried her? Would she be okay?”
Ini Edo shared that despite initial concerns, consultations with professionals helped alleviate her worries about surrogacy. Additionally, she highlighted the significance of having a father figure in one’s life, acknowledging that she was her father’s favorite.
She said, “I was waiting for the right person. I wanted to have a family. I wanted to do it with a man. I am my father’s favorite. Growing up, I was my father’s pet.
“For me, a father figure in a child’s life, especially a female child, was so important. My relationship with my father was so enviable even by my mum. They felt he favored me over everyone else. That’s what I wanted for my daughter.”
