Nigeria, on Monday, recorded its highest daily COVID-19 infection figure since the beginning of the outbreak in late February.

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC posted 1,204 new cases on Monday, smashing previous highest daily record of 1,145 registered on 18 December, 2020.

Lagos recorded 654 cases, its highest daily since February, when the pandemic break out in Nigeria.

According to the NCDC the 1,204 cases came from 21 states and the Federal Capital of Abuja.

Seven deaths were also recorded, with new death toll now 1,318.
