I am a trueborn of Ado Ekiti where our sobriquet is Omo Ewi otu, aroro’jo…

I attest to the fact that I share the same kinship with Senator Babafemi Ojudu, who represented my constituency in the 6th Senate, courtesy of Dr. John Kayode Fayemi’s influence. But I do not share his bad-belle attitude, which is constantly in accretion. Ojudu is on a lone yet fruitless journey. His view is jaundiced and does not represent that of the majority of Ado indigenes.

One thing stands sure about the values we hold as Ado indigenes: we are a thankful lot. A ki nse abara moore je. When good deeds are done to us, we will be openly appreciative and not cast a sneer or jeer at our benefactor.

See for yourself how grateful we are to Gov. Kayode Fayemi at JKF2@2.
From our Kabiyesi, the Ewi, to the youngest of us, we have been celebrating JKF’s kind gestures ceaselessly.

Or haven’t you seen the advert published in the dailies? We thanked Gov. Fayemi thus:
“On behalf of the Kabiesi, the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, and the entire good people of Ado Ekiti, we thank Your Excellency for the development and life-changing projects sited all over Ado Ekiti.”
Some of the live-changing projects domiciled in Ado Ekiti, for which we are eternally grateful include, but not limited to:

  1. Water Corporation Construction and Renovation Works, Ureje Dam, Ado-Ekiti.
  2. David Oke High School, Ikere Road, Ado-Ekiti
  3. Banji Akintoye Comprehensive School, Polytechnic Road, Ado-Ekiti
  4. JMK Foods’ Rice Mill Project, Polytechnic Road, Ado-Ekiti.
  5. Deji Fasuan Comprehensive High School, Afao Road, Ado-Ekiti
  6. Ayo Fasanmi Comprehensive High School, Ilokun, Ado-Ekiti
  7. Ado-Iyin Dual Carriage Way
  8. 2nos. Secretariat Building Project (Sitech and Patmag)
  9. Civic Centre Construction Project, Fajuyi, Ado-Ekiti
  10. Ekiti Airport Fencing Project, Along Ado-Ijan Road, Ado-Ekiti
  11. EKZ Model School Building Project, Ago Aduloju, Ado-Ekiti

To say that we have never had it this good is not an exaggeration. We might also not have had it better were the Governor to be an Ado indigene. So why won’t we publicly express our immense gratitude.
Kilo se wa ti ao ni fi emi imoore han?

If for any reason Ojudu can’t see the good in Fayemi, it is because of envy. Envy is a cankerworm that destroys the fabric of reasoning. Ojudu’s thinking is this: “why must it be a Fayemi and not me that is sitting on that governorship seat?” But he has forgotten the place of God and destiny in all of it. God chooses who he uses and He does not owe anyone any explanation as to how or why.

If for no other reason than the above, the time to to rein in our kinsman, Babafemi Ojudu, is NOW! The darts he is throwing ceaselessly at Gov. Fayemi has been missing the target.

Rather than making other people see Fayemi as a bad man, Ojudu’s criticism is drawing more attention to the good deeds of his “prey.”
Ina ti a da fun igun, eiye miran la fi nsun.

Fayemi-bashing is turning to celebration for Fayemi. Pull him down effort of our brother is resulting in lifting him up for Mr. Gov!

We know that Ojudu is basing his action on personal aggrandisement rather than the non-performance he has been banditing. We know that Ojudu would like to be the next governor of Ekiti State, but he is going about it in a wrong way.

Ojudu should allow reasoning to prevail and cease his fire unconditionally, otherwise, the rest of us Ado indigenes would not only disclaim him, we would disown him. We can see through him and we know he doesn’t mean well for us in Ado, not to talk of Ekiti State at largee.

To our amiable governor, we say, e fi owo wonu. Agba ti ko binu ni omo re npo si. Ojudu is not representing anyone in Ado, he is on a prodigal mission and, sooner than later, he will come back home. Our daily prayer for him is that it should not be too late to return home.
