…..Prominent APC party leaders receive Award of Excellence

The Youth wing of All Progressives Congress, Ado-Ekiti local government chapter under the leadership of Hon. Abdufatai Bello held a youth summit which was first of its kind in the history of the party on 22nd April, 2021.
The youth summit with the theme, “Are today’s youth leaders of tomorrow” which took place at Feyisetan multi purpose hall in Isato, Ado-Ekiti witnessed the impressive turn up of APC party leaders, stakeholders, youths in all the thirteen wards in Ado-Ekiti.
The youth leader of APC in Ado-Ekiti LG, Hon. Abdufatai Bello in his welcome address welcomed all invited guests and party leaders for taking out their time to attend the summit.
He furthered by showing his profound appreciation for the impressive turn up.
The Honourable Commissioner of Youth and sports in Ekiti state, Hon. Michael Awopetu in his key note address expressed his delight over the summit.
He described the summit as timely going by the challenges facing the youths in the country.
The honourable commissioner called on the youths to rise up for their right.
“It is time for the voice of the youth to be heared”
Hon. Awopetu also called on the youth to desist from any illicit act that is capable of disturbing public peace.
“I want to challenge the youth to refuse to be politically thugs in the hands of politicians because the future lies in their lands”
He furthered by highlighting the achievements of the state government under the able leadership of His Excellency, Dr John Kayode Fayemi in area of youth development. He added that government will continue to be alive to its responsibility towards youth development in Ekiti state.
Other guest speakers at the summit include DG MEDA in Ekiti state, Otunba Kayode Fasae, DG Bureau of Employment and Productivity, Mr Lanre Ogunjobi, SSA on public health, Hon. Opeyemi Ogunsakin.
The youths were lectured on leadership skill and how to build alliance and network to promote collaboration among youth leaders in Ado-Ekiti.
They were also lectured on how to be self-reliance and create respect for themselves.
The climax of the summit was the giving of award and certificate of excellence to some prominent APC party leaders and stakeholders who have contributed towards the development of youth in Ado-Ekiti.
Prominent party leaders that were giving awards at the summit include, Hon. Olusola Steve Fatoba(MHR) Otunba Kayode Fasae, DG MEDA in Ekiti state, former deputy governor of Ekiti state, His Excellency, Prof. Modupe Adelabu, former SUBEB boss, Prof. Francisca Aladejana, Hon. Opeyemi Ogunsakin, SSA on public health, Hon. Olalekan Ijidale, Arch. Tope Ogunleye, S.A on project, Hon. Tade Aluko, Ekiti deputy Chief of staff.
Others were Mr lanre Ogunjobi, DG Bureau of Employment and Productivity, and Hon. Yomi Oso who were given certificate of recognition and made as patron of APC Youths in Ado-Ekiti.
The youth leader of Ado-Ekiti APC, Hon. Fatai Bello in interview with newsmen commended governor Kayode Fayemi for his contribution towards youth development in Ekiti.
He called on the governor to give more support to the youth.
